„Defense Mechanisms” is a language workshop that is part of the cycle of „English for Psychology” meetings.
These are the meetings for specialists who would like to improve their language skills and become more confident in language use through speaking practice.
This workshop is addressed especially to:
– psychotherapists,
– psychologists,
– pedagogues,
– trainers,
– coaches,
– students of psychology, pedagogics, psychotherapy, mediation, coaching,
– doctors and medical students,
– all other professionals who need in their work the language related to mental health and personal growth.
The workshop will be helpful for all specialists who would like to include English language in their work with patients or clients. The meeting provides a safe space for practicing in a small group of professionals, a unique chance to exchange their professional experience while doing so, as well as lots of fun.
The workshop will give the you the opportunity to:
✅ extend your vocabulary,
✅ review or learn grammar structures,
✅ all the above – in practice, while discussing areas of mental health and wellbeing.

Areas covered in the course:
Neurobiology and neuroscience, models of emotion regulation, nervous system responses to stress, psychosomatics, mental health crises, prevention in mental health, stress management, trauma awareness, attachment theory, psychology of addiction, approaches in psychotherapy.
The curriculum and materials will be modified according to the needs expressed by the participants, who will have the opportunity to point out the areas of interest.
The classes will be hosted in the beautiful and enlivening surroundings of the new centre for workshops, therapy and coaching in Wrocław – Wyspa Mocy („The Empowerment Island”).
The centre is located in the vicinity of The Centennial Hall, Zwierzyniecki Bridge and Odra River.
